Nison Periplous

Interregional / Transnational cooperation programme for the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI)
“Nison Periplous” is a multi-layer cooperation programme that brings together island Local Action Groups across Greece, focusing on the connection between culture and local development. The main aim of the programme is to strengthen the ecosystem of the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) in island and mountainous territories, by supporting cultural professionals through training, mobility, networking and digital tools for cultural production and visibility.
Within this framework, culture is approached not only as heritage and identity, but also as a field of innovation, professional empowerment and social cohesion, with a strong emphasis on the role of digital technology, education and creative practice in the public sphere.
Key Objectives
The programme aims to:

Promote diverse forms of CCI activity in island regions and support local cultural economies

Connect cultural production with digital technology across creative practices

Encourage the use of technology in cultural sites and heritage contexts (architectural, historical, environmental)

Strengthen educational approaches and new methods of youth empowerment through culture
-
Highlight island cultural identity, promoting islands as “places of culture and arts”
The Role of Ventema Productions
Ventema Productions contributed to the programme through the design and implementation of training and professional development actions, with a focus on:

knowledge transfer through workshops and seminars

supporting CCI professionals and artists
-
strengthening skills related to digital promotion, sustainability and audience development
-
encouraging networking and collaboration between territories
Actions & Implementation
1) 1st National Seminar (2024)
Video editing and social media promotion for musicians and artists
This seminar focused on strengthening musicians’ skills in promoting their work in the contemporary digital environment. Through practical exercises and applied tools, participants explored ways to enhance visibility, communication and dissemination of artistic content using social media and digital formats.

Participation & Network
A total of 24 musicians participated, coming from 8 different regions and 4 islands (Crete, Rhodes, Lemnos, Evia). Representatives of development agencies and partner organisations also attended, strengthening interregional cooperation and exchange.

1st Nationwide Seminar for Artists “Nison Periplous”
2) Inter-island CCI Workshops — Action B.3.3 (2025)
Specialised training and exchange across different islands
Action B.3.3 was designed as a mobility-based training activity, supporting CCI professionals through specialised workshops on different islands, and promoting inter-island knowledge exchange and collaboration.
Period: March – June 2025
Locations: Rhodes, Kefalonia, Syros
Participants: 6 CCI professionals
Ventema’s role: Coordination, participant support and management
Workshop Topics
The workshops focused on areas related to contemporary production and creation in public spaces:

Painting and color theory

Street art (street art)

Public space and artistic interventions
The initiative helped expand the participants’ skills and strengthen networking among professionals from different locations.
3) Local Training Seminar (2025)
“From Idea to Sustainability: Marketing, Audience Development & Financial Management”
This intensive local seminar addressed key challenges faced by artists and cultural professionals, focusing on sustainability, strategic planning, audience development and financial management of cultural initiatives.
Date: 5 April 2025
Location: Gergeri, Gortyna Municipality (Crete)
Duration: 10 hours
Participants: 11 people
Ventema’s role: Organisation and production of the seminar
Methodology & Content
The seminar included:

marketing and communication strategies

audience development and community-building

budgeting and basic financial management tools

funding opportunities and sustainability models
The approach combined presentations, case studies and practical exercises.
Ventema Productions was fully responsible for organizing and implementing the event, undertaking the following:

The initiative was implemented as part of the “Nisones Peripolos” program, commissioned by AKOMM-Psiloritis SA and co-funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Ministry of Rural Development and Food.
