Vedema Productions is a non-profit organization dedicated to the design, organization, and implementation of cultural and educational programs and events, with a focus on the rural and mountainous regions of Crete.

Our mission is to create opportunities that empower people both within and outside urban areas, with a particular emphasis on women and communities with limited access to educational and cultural activities.

Through oral history, cultural heritage, the arts, and the use of new technologies, we seek ways to foster dialogue between the village and the city. We focus on communities that are at risk of being abandoned, highlighting their narratives, memories, and contemporary needs, and transforming them into living material for collective thought and creation.

The word “vendema” means the harvest of fruits—a bountiful harvest, a good year. For us, it symbolizes the right moment, the right time, and the conditions that ripen so that we can create collectively and pursue our dreams.
